Research Reflection

The assignment was to do research journal entries weekly for the research paper. However, I did it all at once a couple days before the first draft of the paper was due. The staggered research process may have been helpful for some people because it did not pile up the work. For me: I enjoyed dedicating days specifically for research and including it into my paper. It combined all the ideas from the research into one and I expressed my thoughts on it through my own eyes. This way, I would not forget about what I discovered in my research the week before.

The library visit was enough but I did not learn everything I needed during this visit to find the "scholarly" articles I needed. On the bright side, this process is self-learnable. Throughout this researching process, I learned how to find useful articles that were directly related to my topic. There were some days when I found articles about music but did not have the information I needed to support my thesis.

It was a bit easy finding research after I got the hang of how to use databases productively. My topic was broad enough for me to expand my thesis more as I found more new facts.
